On September 6, 2011, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Vitacura, a seminar Key Factors and Challenges for Sustainable Energy Market in Chile was held, whose main objective was to disseminate the main results of the project “Promotion of market opportunities for clean energy” co-financed by the IDB-MIF and executed by Fundación Chile.
This project seeks to promote the use of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy (RE), in order to improve the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Chile. Besides wanting to facilitate access to financial incentives to support the use of more efficient technologies, the project has sought to develop the market for ESCO Energy Service Companies.
To achieve this, it has been crucial the participation of national and international consultants.
Measuring the carbon footprint of this event was made by Fundación Chile and is being verified by Ernst & Young. Neutralization is done through SCX, Santiago Climate Exchange, with carbon credits of a Russian biomass project , Archangelsk APPM.
