max_width_mobile=&#8221;default&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this fifth version, the race traveled through 6 regions of Chile to reach the hill of Arica, after a route of more than 2,600 km, which ended on Sunday, October 28 in the city of Arica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This race is CO2 Neutral, the first of its kind to achieve this distinction, which reflects the commitment to environmental sustainability of its organizers. The certification process follows the certification protocol defined by SCX, where first the carbon footprint of the race is measured following the GHG Protocol guidelines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this version, we worked on the basis of direct emissions (Scope 1 and 2) and with some elements of Scope 3, such as travel and accommodation for pilots and organizers. Once the footprint was measured, it was verified by an independent third party, Deloitte, and the total greenhouse gas emissions were neutralized with carbon credits from projects certified under internationally recognized certification standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It should be noted that the first edition of Carrera Solar Atacama was held in 2011 with a route of 1,060 kilometers and three days of competition, crossing the regions of Tarapac\u00e1 and Antofagasta. Today the competition will cross the entire north of Chile in seven days, making it the toughest ecological rally ever organized in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the seven years that Carrera Solar Atacama has been held, 61 new solar and hybrid vehicles have been developed;
