width=\u00bb1\/3&#8243; tablet_width_inherit=\u00bbdefault\u00bb bg_image_animation=\u00bbnone\u00bb border_type=\u00bbsimple\u00bb column_border_width=\u00bbnone\u00bb column_border_style=\u00bbsolid\u00bb][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]La biomasa proviene de subproductos y desechos (aserr\u00edn, cortezas de \u00e1rboles, entre otros) resultantes de la elaboraci\u00f3n de productos forestales de la planta de Arauco, la que genera la energ\u00eda que la planta necesita para su operaci\u00f3n, convirti\u00e9ndola as\u00ed en una planta autosustentable.<\/p>\n<p>Dado que la capacidad de generaci\u00f3n de la planta es mayor que la que requiere la compa\u00f1\u00eda, \u00e9sta compra residuos de biomasa a otras organizaciones en la localidad, promoviendo as\u00ed la reutilizaci\u00f3n de residuos y la generaci\u00f3n de combustible renovable, lo que aporta al desarrollo econ\u00f3mico, social y ambiental en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de reutilizar un desecho, evitando su acumulaci\u00f3n, descomposici\u00f3n y la consecuente emisi\u00f3n de metano, esta biomasa se convierte en energ\u00eda, la cual es destinada en un 60% a las operaciones del aserradero Nueva Aldea.<\/p>\n<p>El 40% restante es destinado al Sistema Interconectado Central (SIC), contribuyendo a la diversificaci\u00f3n de la matriz energ\u00e9tica del pa\u00eds, entregando energ\u00eda m\u00e1s limpia, que al reemplazar el uso de combustibles f\u00f3siles, reduce las emisiones de CO2producidas en Chile.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto Nueva Aldea generar\u00e1 una reducci\u00f3n de emisiones de CO2\u00a0equivalente a 170.000 toneladas anuales y su periodo de acreditaci\u00f3n m\u00e1ximo es de 21 a\u00f1os, bajo los m\u00e1s estrictos est\u00e1ndares internacionales.[\/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=\u00bb1082&#8243;
