AZA currently monitors 100% of its carbon footprint associated with all the production processes in which it operates, including the transportation of scrap metal from different parts of the country, including its recycling centers, as well as production in its furnaces and rolling mills for the generation of finished product and subsequent distribution. In addition, it quantifies its carbon footprint on a monthly basis to be certified annually by an external party.

AZA in the deployment of its climate policy and aligning itself with the sustainable development objectives that it has been promoting since 2018, various actions and implemented efficiencies in its production system such as energy efficiency plans and the optimization of its processes with a focus on reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.

As of October 2020, AZA has decided to transform its SAFEROCK into the country’s first CO2 Neutral steel product for the 2,400 tons that will be produced between October and December 2020. The conversion process of a CO2 Neutral product requires that all production and distribution processes are fully monitored and adapted to international standards.
