specifically in the sale to Hudbay Peru (Constancia Mine) of 25 tons of its Prillex Zero production, which is equivalent to the emission of 2.68 tCO2e instead of the 99.1 tCO2e associated with the same 25 tons of a normal product, resulting in a 97.3% reduction in emissions associated with the use of this production. Additionally, within the framework of this CO2e Neutral Production initiative, the remaining balance of 2.68 tCO2e will be offset by carbon credits from the renewable energy generation project, Potrero Hydropower Plant, Peru. Therefore, Prillex Zero’s production has a net zero footprint at its plant.
This achievement underscores Enaex’s commitment to decarbonization and sustainability in mining, a sector historically linked to high levels of greenhouse gas emissions.
