IREC Internacional

We promote the development of
renewable energies

The International REC Standard Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides a robust attribute tracking standard for use worldwide.

The I-REC Standard is governed from the Code and associated subsidiary documents, which allows for the implementation of a robust and transparent attribute tracking scheme, ensuring the highest quality and best practice compliance to avoid double counting, double certificate issuance and double attribute claims.

I-REC Standard is present in more than 40 countries, and works in a coordinated manner through its Local Issuers.

SCX I-REC Local Issuer in Chile

In 2018 we were invited to be the Local Issuer of I-REC in Chile. Our role is to support Chilean generating companies to add value to their renewable energy production, allowing them to deliver electricity to their customers with the renewable attribute from its source of origin.

In order to guarantee that the attribute is unique and has been assigned to a specific consumer, the system requires that generating companies duly register their devices; request the emissions associated with their renewable source productions, which are certified for each MWh within the registry; where they are assigned to the consumer once redeemed, avoiding double counting or use of these.
