ISA INTERVIAL published its Environmental Policy in 2020, whose purpose is to carry out responsible environmental management in the use of natural resources demanded by business activities, as well as their impacts and risks generated.

ISA INTERVIAL seeks to ensure that its own processes and operations and those of its Concessionaire Companies are aligned with the following with the pursuit of sustainable development, for which it has defined procedures to ensure proper environmental management in the organization’s processes, protecting the environment, establishing control, prevention and mitigation of adverse environmental impacts, and complying with legal requirements and improving environmental performance.

Since 2019, the company has been working on the quantification of greenhouse gas emissions, which has allowed it to manage its emissions in the hazardous waste management lines, as well as in the identification of other aspects for a better evaluation of its environmental impacts. Since then, it has also been part of the Footprint Chile program, obtaining the “Quantification and Footprint Reduction” seal in 2020.

In this effort, it has obtained the CO2 Neutral certification from SCX, consolidating its commitment to expand its efforts within the framework of its 2030 Strategy.

In addition, ISA and its technical partners South Pole and Panthera have a corporate sustainability program called “Jaguar Connection” to contribute to biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation. In Chile it is called Conexión Puma, being this feline the umbrella species to be protected. This program is developed together with rural communities to implement the carbon component in forest recovery and preservation projects for the reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in priority areas of protection, recovery and connection of natural habitats and jaguar and puma corridors in Latin America, which coincide with the territories where ISA is present.
