As part of this strategy, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is a key element of the strategy. Essential to move towards sustainable development. For this reason, UNAB has been years working on the implementation of its Energy Management Plan, which includes efficiency measures and renewable energy purchases with efficiency measures and the purchase of IREC-certified renewable energy through its electricity IREC certification through its electricity supply contracts.
Thanks to these efforts, as of 2023, the university has achieved an important milestone, reaching 100% of its electricity consumption from renewable sources, thanks to projects in Chile.

These are: República Campus, Casona Campus, Antonio Varas Campus, Bellavista Campus, Creativo Campus, Los Leones Campus, Viña del Mar Campus, Concepción Campus, Colina Veterinary Clinic and Quintay Campus.
