To achieve its objective, action plans have been defined in six strategic areas: Climate Change, Energy, Water, Paper, Waste and Certifications. With these guidelines, Bci is committed to developing a more sustainable and low-carbon operation.

“With the purchase of these carbon credits we will be able to contribute in decreasing our indirect emissions associated with our network of island ATMs (which are not located in branches) and our customers’ web transactions.”

The GHG emissions inventory was carried out by Proyectae associated with Banco BCI’s operations. using the method established in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol). In turn, the quantification has been verified by an independent third party, Corporate Citizenship. The carbon credits used will correspond to the Santa Marta project, located in the Metropolitan Region, which will be removed from the International Registry to ensure the traceability and transparency of the process, thus concluding the CO2 Neutral Certification of SCX, for the GHG emissions associated with its ATMs and web transactions for the period 2019. BCI has established the commitment to reconcile the final result resulting from the period currently in effect.
