For this initiative, GHG Protocol methodology will be used to measure the carbon footprint associated with the WRC event, which will be held in the city of Concepción from May 9 to 12. The measurement will be verified by an independent third party, and finally the total greenhouse gas emissions will be neutralized with carbon credits from a portfolio of renewable energy projects (NCRE).

Almost exactly one year ago the Biobío Region received the Candidate Event, corresponding to the first date of the RallyMobil, to apply to be the official venue of the World Rally Championship. Today this is already a reality and the entire World Rally Championship structure is installed in the Biobío Region, leaving everything ready to carry out a date that is unprecedented in the history of the championship. Both the television production and the structure in charge of the normal development of the race are working hard on the roads, in the Assistance Park, Bicentennial Park, Independence Square, Press Room and in all the aspects that cannot be left aside in an event as big as this one.

The Biobío Region is ready for the sixth date of the 2019 WRC. After 19 years of history, the RallyMobil Championship has reached the necessary maturity to become a world rally championship. A top quality sporting structure with more than 50 Group R cars in accordance with FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) considerations, a high level of staging and a commitment from the authorities and the police department of our country that gives us the peace of mind of being a valid option for the realization of the WRC in Chile.
