The Export Promotion Directorate – ProChile – faces today a scenario of great dynamism: entrepreneurs require agile management and effective support tools to successfully face the growing challenges presented by international markets. In this context, the adaptation of economies to the generation of products and services with low CO2 emissions is a new paradigm and these will eventually be competitive in the global market.

These global discussions have a new component; increased environmental awareness on the part of consumers.
In this context, ProChile, in its eagerness to grow with sustainability, has established in the guidelines that guide the institutional work 2010 – 2014, to promote the incorporation of differentiating elements, as well as the new requirements of developed consumers, to address the challenges of sustainable exports. For them, and in order to contribute to the reduction of emissions in our country by 20% by 2020, different events have been neutralized since 2011, and this year will be no exception.
ENEXPRO 2013, Chile’s largest export meeting, has just obtained the CO2 neutral certification under the international SCX Standard. For this purpose, emissions were measured by POCH, which corresponded to:
International transportation of speakers, importers and Commercial Directors.
-Internal transportation of 3,000 attendees.
-Electricity consumption for the 3 days of the event
– Material printing
-Waste: Generation and disposal.
Finally, in order to obtain the SCX CO2 Neutral certification, Prochile verified the measurement with an independent third party, in order to fully comply with the requirements of the SCX international standard, a task that was carried out by Deloitte.
