On August 9, 2011, Capital Magazine held its first sustainability seminar, an event that brought together around 650 businessmen, executives, academics and political and environmental leaders to discuss the implications of economic, environmental and social sustainability in Chile and the world.

The summit was attended by important guests, including Erin Brockovich, president of Brockovich Research & Consulting, one of the most important women in the world of sustainability and about whom a film was made about her struggle to improve the sanitary conditions of her people. Richard Jackson, in charge of sustainability at the London 2012 Olympic Games, also spoke, among other important speakers.
In addition, the event obtained CO2 SCX Neutral, whereby all emissions associated with the event were measured, verified by an independent third party, and neutralized through the purchase of equivalent carbon credits generated by the Lircay run-of-river hydroelectric power plant. SCX was responsible for removing these bonds from the international registers to avoid double-counting.
